Strategic Plan
On behalf of your National Board of Directors, CEO and staff of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, I am attaching the SHPE Strategic Implementation Plan. This plan is a result of a process over the past few months beginning with a strategic planning retreat in Washington DC in August 2011. Our Strategic Planning session engaged the SHPE National Board of Directors, members of the SHPE Foundation Board of Directors, the Management Committee and national staff in an examination of SHPE’s assets and our future opportunities.
The plan will guide SHPE in effectively carrying out our roles and responsibilities aimed at advancing our mission of changing lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development. Creating a shared vision and working together to accomplish our mission moves us forward beyond what any one of us can accomplish alone.
This plan reinforces the strength that each one of us brings to SHPE and the critical role of partnership and collaboration. This plan also provides a roadmap for SHPE and is intended to be a dynamic and integrated effort. The overarching goals presented will help us achieve a balanced framework of what needs to be done to reach our vision and fulfill our mission.
To achieve our objectives and strategies, every chapter is encouraged to use this plan to help guide their work. I look forward to working with each of you to implement the SHPE Strategic Plan Implementation. Together we can accomplish a world where Hispanics are highly valued and influential as the leading innovators, scientists, mathematicians and engineers.
