2016 Recipients of Prestigious SHPE STAR Awards Announced

Awardees will be recognized at the 2016 SHPE National Conference

Los Angeles, CA, – Sept. 30, 2016 Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) announced today the recipients of this year’s prestigious SHPE Technical Achievement Recognition (STAR) Awards, honoring key contributors in the Hispanic community in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).

The competitive selection process is led by a committee of experienced and knowledgeable STEM leaders who support the SHPE mission.

“For SHPE, the STAR Awards represents the major contributions members of our Hispanic community have made in STEM; it is the true essence of who we are as an organization by recognizing major strides achieved by our SHPE Familia on a local, regional, and national level.” said Barry Cordero, Interim CEO, SHPE.

The annual STAR Awards are SHPE’s premier event, for over 30 years SHPE has recognized individuals and corporations nationally for their dedication, commitment and selfless efforts to the growth and advancement of Hispanics in STEM. The STAR Awards offer several honored categories representing exceptional college students to industry professionals and public and private corporations.
