Registration

  • When does registration open?
    • Registration opens July 5, 2016.
  • When does registration close?
    • Early Bird with Lodging – closes September 30, 2016, although lodging plans are limited and are likely to sell out before then.
    • Regular with Lodging – closes October 7, 2016, although they may sell out before.
    • Non-Lodging Plans – close October 28, 2016 and reopen onsite on November 2nd
  • Where do I register?
    • You can register through SHPEConnect.  A free SHPEConnect account is needed to register for conference.
  • Are we able to submit a bulk registration?
    • Bulk Registration is now closed.  To register individually, please click here.
  • What is included in registration?
    • Workshops
    • Most Events; with the exception of paid meal functions or invite only events.
    • Lodging (for lodging plans)
      • Wednesday Lodging Plan
        • Check-In Wednesday after 3 P.M.
        • Check-Out Sunday before 11 A.M.
      • Thursday Lodging Plan
        • Check-In Thursday after 3 P.M.
        • Check-Out Sunday before 11 A.M.
  • Do I have to be a member to register for the National Conference?
    • No, we offer non-member rates.
  • What is the refund policy?
    • Cancellations on or before October 1, 2016; 50% of the registration will be refunded.
    • Cancellations after October 1, 2016; no refund will be issued.
    • All refunds will be made four weeks after the SHPE Conference is completed. Any request to cancel registration must be submitted via email at membership@shpe.org.
  • I am no longer able to attend conference. Can I transfer my registration to another person?
    • We are no longer able to accommodate substitutions for registrations with lodging. If you have a Programs Only or Career Fair Only registration, the last day for substitutions is Wednesday, 10/26 at 3:00 PM PDT.
  • Are there registration discounts available?
    • SHPE Lifetime Members are eligible for 10% off Professional registration. Please email membership@shpe.org
    • Chapter Advisors receive $50 off Professional registration rates. Please email membership@shpe.org
  • What to do now that lodging plans are sold out?
    • You can still purchase Programs Only plans and book a room at one of our recommended overflow hotels.

Lodging

  • Do I get my own room?
    • Undergraduate and Graduate attendees are housed 4 per room
    • Professional attendees are housed 2 per room
    • Limited single lodging plans are available for Graduate and Professional plans. First come, first serve basis.
  • Can I pick my own roommates?
    • Although, SHPE does its best to accommodate lodging per chapter there are cases in which you may room with 3 fellow attendees.
  • Which hotel will I be staying in?
    • Your hotel confirmation will be sent a few days before Conference. Please look for an email from SHPE by October 26, 2016.

Travel & Transportation

  • Which airport should I arrive into?
    • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)
  • Is there a train station I can arrive into?
    • Amtrak has a stop at King Street station located near CenturyLink Field which offers buses every 20 minutes into downtown.
  • How do I get from Sea-Tac Airport to downtown Seattle?
    • SpeediShuttle Seattle provides shared ride transportation in a fleet of Mercedes shuttles at a rate of $15.99 one way, $30.38 round trip (10% discount on return leg when booked together). Guests with prearranged arrival reservations are met in SeaTac’s baggage claim area by an agent holding a tablet with the name “SHPE 2016” then directed to their waiting shuttle. Vehicle amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, Speedi HDTV, seating for up to eleven guests, three point seat restraints, adjustable headrests, roomy comfortable seats, and a large cargo area
    • SoundTransit is a light-rail service that goes directly from SeaTac to downtown Seattle for $3.00 and leaves every 10 minutes (40 minute ride).
