Please join us on Friday, November 5, from 11:30am - 6:00pm ET for the Virtual Career Fair as part of the 2021 SHPE National Convention! Over 160 exhibitors will be recruiting for many different types of STEM jobs. This is a great chance to explore opportunities for the next step in your career!
This event is included in your registration and all you have to do is select it from the list of ticketed events to gain access to the platform and participate.

Virtual Career Fair OPENS and Screening Access Begins!
Monday, October 25 – November 5
Participants will access the MeetingPlay platform and start completing screening surveys to form cue lines on the virtual career fair day, happening Friday November 5. During this this time and leading to the virtual career fair day on Friday, November 5, you will complete screenings with sponsors you are interested in. Sponsors will review screenings received and can schedule an interview before the virtual Career Fair! Be sure to monitor your inbox and watch for notifications.

Andrew Schmidt is the Director of Enterprise Talent Acquisition for Lockheed Martin. He oversees the teams that provide strategy, technology, and process for embedded recruitment teams across the corporation. Before this position, Andrew served in multiple Human Resources leadership roles at Lockheed Martin’s Aeronautics business area. He led Talent Acquisition and as an HR business partner. He also served in a Talent Management role.
Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Andrew led HR certification exam development at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He also worked in the federal government and as a consultant to federal agencies.
Andrew earned PhD and master’s degrees studying industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Maryland, where he researched the impact of toxic leadership behaviors. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Spanish from the University of Connecticut. He enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two Bernese Mountain Dogs.

2) Login to the Meeting Play Platform
Below is the access information for the MeetingPlay platform. Starting today you can login to the platform and set up your account, upload your resume to your profile, and explore the companies that will have booths. You will need to reset your password upon your first entry to the platform.
Username: The email address you used to register
Password: Your confirmation number
If you experience a problem logging in, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
3) Set Up Your Profile
Once you are logged into the platform, set up your profile!
After you set up your profile, go to the “Career Fair” from the Lobby to visit the exhibitor booths. Answer the pre-screening questions to be considered for a one-on-one video conversation with a recruiter at each company in which you are interested. Screenings will take place on the Virtual Career Fair day, Friday, November 5, from 12-6pm ET.
Between October 25 and November 4 you should complete screening requests to receive an interview or screen with companies.
4) Upload Your Resume
You should have already uploaded your resume to the SHPE Career Center so that the exhibitors are able to view it in advance. But if you didn't, there's no time like the present! When you upload it, be sure to check the box indicating that you're attending the National Convention. Upload resume now >
You will also be asked to upload your resume as part of setting up your profile in the platform. This is required when you screen with a company or interview as well and will be visible to all attendees. Your profile and resume can be updated any time you need to during convention.
Be sure to mark your profile to be shared with sponsors in your profile in the virtual career fair. Go to your profile and edit settings to make sure you are visible.

5) Review the FAQs, Dress Code, and Rules
Check out the preparation FAQs and, in particular, review the recommended dress code for the career fair. Show up dressed to impress! Even though we're virtual, you will still be on camera during pre-screening/interviews. Attendees are also able to do one-on-one video calls in the platform. Visit the Sponsor Showcases on November 1-2 and hear directly from some of the top recruiters in STEM about the kind of talent they're looking for and what they have to offer. You will be on camera during these sessions, so dress accordingly!
