About RLDC 4 & 6
The Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) is an annual conference for chapters to develop their leadership and professional skills.
Regions 4 & 6 envision empowering everyone to discover the leader in them to grow professionally and personally to serve their community. RLDC 4 & 6 will bring internship and full-time employment opportunities to continue the increase of Hispanic representation in STEM.
RLDC 4 & 6 will be an experience that:
- Inspires and motivates future leaders to remain stable and resilient to challenges, being self-aware and clear to their goals
- Empowers participants in strategic career and financial planning for long-term success
- Presents self-improvement techniques to maintain a healthy lifestyle in a fast-paced career
Host chapters for this event are Illinois Institute of Technology - IIT Student Chapter and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory Professional Chapter.
Regions 4 & 6 are made up of chapters from Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin.

The SHPE Chapter at the Illinois Institute of Technology (SHPE-IIT) officially re-established in 2009 with members driven to unite the Hispanic population on campus and provide opportunities to become prominent leaders. Fermilab SHPE Professional
The Fermilab SHPE Professional Chapter (fSHPE) was founded in 2017 to increase the representation of Hispanics across the laboratory. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory offers unique STEM careers and is committed to attract, develop and retain diverse national and global talent. fSHPE provides networking and professional growth opportunities to its members. By engaging with fellow SHPE professional and student chapters, fSHPE increases awareness of the need for diverse representation in our workforce, and contributes to outreach efforts for the local community and the Chicagoland area.
