About the Host Chapters

Texas A&M University
The Texas A&M University Chapter of SHPE was founded in 1994 to create an organization where Hispanic engineers could come together. Over the years, we have come together to form a diverse group of students, united in our heritage and our studies. Members become part of the #SHPEfamilia while participating in activities that help them to grow personally, and professionally. The organization helps members network with alumni, current students, and with companies that come host a variety of events. Visit the chapter site >

Georgia Institute of Technology
The Georgia Institute of Technology Chapter of SHPE was founded in 1988 to create an organization where Hispanic engineers could come together and create a welcoming community to network. Our purpose has been to help hispanic students maximize academic performance at Georgia Tech as well as assist members to define and attain professional goals that match their potential. LM Aero SHPE
The Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Professional chapter was founded in 2002. It came about at a key point in the company’s history, when a large influx of new employees came onboard following Lockheed Martin’s award of the Joint Strike Fighter Program (now known as the F-35 Lighting II). The chapter provided a sense of community for these employees in their pursuit of developing Hispanics professionally and spreading Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) access and awareness among the local Hispanic community.
