Vice-President
Vincent Rodriguez Ruiz
Pacific Gas & ElectricVincent Rodriguez-Ruiz graduated from California State University, Fresno with an Electrical Engineering degree in 2014. He is currently employed as a Distribution Operations Engineer at Pacific Gas and Electric which is one of the largest utilities in the United States. Vincent is a lifetime member of SHPE and has been with the organization over 10 years of joining as a freshman. SHPE has provided him with friends and mentors who helped support him throughout his education. He would not have the skillset, job, or degree if it was not for his SHPE network reminding him that he can graduate. Since he joined, Vincent has served on various executive board positions for the SHPE Fresno State chapter and has served SHPE Region 1 as a Regional Student Representative (RSR), as well as the Regional Junior Representative (RJR). He currently serves as the RVP where he is in charge of supporting the current student and professional chapters within Region 1, and expanding the SHPE familia across the Region 1 territory. SHPE is a great organization that provides students with a familia and develops students professionally to enter the workforce. As a professional Vincent strives to work closely with the local school districts to promote SHPE and STEM. These schools are located in the rural areas of California and are home to the least educated cities in America. Vincent strives to give these students the same opportunities he had so they can be successful by providing scholarships and helping the SHPE Fresno Professional chapter with outreach events. Vincent hopes that one day with the help of the SHPE, the Central Valley will no longer be a part of that statistic.
