Guadalupe Perez
The Boeing CompanyGuadalupe (Lupe) Perez was born in California, and moved to Zacatecas, Mexico with her family when she was a few months old. She lived there until the age of seven when her family moved to San Diego. Her curiosity in STEM began with her choosing tools over dolls.
Lupe has held various positions throughout The Boeing Company, Space Electronics in El Segundo as well as a domestic temporary assignment for the 787 Dreamliner in San Antonio, Texas. She has excelled as a Unit Responsible Manufacturing Authority, Project Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Subsystems Engineer, and Certification Engineer for programs in various locations. Lupe is currently a Program Manager at The Boeing Company, Space and Launch where she is leading a multidisciplinary and multi-site program.
Lupe is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is an active participant in organizations within The Boeing Company, and externally as well, including SHPE. She is a SHPE Lifetime member, Co-founder and 1st Vice President of the SHPE South Bay Los Angeles Professional Chapter, Boeing SHPE El Segundo Site lead, and the 2021 RLDC 123 Co-Chair. Lupe gives to the community thru empowering youth and being an agent for change. Her hobbies include hiking, building puzzles, dancing and cooking.

John Bernal
Arizona State UniversityJohn Bernal is a non-traditional engineer from Tucson, Arizona. After getting his Bachelors in Economic from Carleton College in Minnesota, he returned home to inspire the future generation of Latinos by teaching High School Math. After five years of teaching, John realized STEM is the key to social and economic responsibility. In 2016, after only three years, John received a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arizona. John is currently in his last year of earning a Masters in Computer Science at ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. As a man who has worn many hats - math teacher, metallurgical engineer, serviceman in the Arizona Army National Guard and human - he understands the urgency of creating a community in order for success.

Kenny Linares
San Diego ProfessionalMy name is Kenny Linares. I am from the greatest city in California - Modesto. I am the proud son of two Mexican immigrants. I transferred to the University of California, Irvine (Zot Zot!) and graduated with my degree in Civil Engineering in 2019. I have been involved with SHPE since the spring of 2017. I was EVP of SHPE at UCI during the 2018-2019 school year, when we won 14 total awards, including the SHPE National Medium Chapter of the Year award. I now work for Turner Construction in their Special Projects Division in sunny San Diego. I love watching sports and I am a big Los Angeles sports fan (Lakers, Dodgers, Rams). I recently started playing golf and I enjoy traveling and eating food!
