Do you have previous, professional work experience but decided to take a step away from your career? Have you pursued philanthropic endeavors, started your own business, supported family members, or taken a career break for any reason for 2 or more years?
If this sounds like you, join Facebook for a live, virtual event taking place on Wednesday, January 27th at 10am PST where you will learn more about Facebook’s Return to Work program directly from previous program graduates! During this webinar, panelists will also share tips about how they were successful in the application and interview process, during the 16 week program, and after graduation. Details about the program’s structure will also be shared so you can learn if this supportive environment is the ideal match for you as you return to the professional workforce.
The idea to create Facebook’s Return to Work program stemmed from a working mom and VP of Infrastructure Technical Program Management Jenn Lesser Henley, who experienced the challenges of returning to work after maternity leave. Tired and stretched thin, Jenn felt the struggle of balancing life as a new mother and continuing to be successful in her career. She also considered how much more difficult it would be to return to the working world after an even longer absence.
It was at that moment when Jenn knew she wanted to offer an option for those who had to step away from their careers. She quickly rallied cross-functional business partners and developed Facebook’s Return to Work program. This program is open to all professionals who took a break from the workforce, for whatever reason.
Since the inaugural launch in 2018, Facebook has hosted multiple cohorts, and is currently recruiting for their next group of Return to Work participants - called “Returners” - to join the program in 2021. The program is designed for those who have taken a career break for 2 or more years and are looking to re-enter the workforce full-time.
From the start of the program, Returners are given tools and information from a network of supporters. Participants regularly receive feedback and mentorship from their hiring managers and buddies. Returners also have the opportunity to meet with others in their cohort, program managers, and past graduates. The 16 week program offers regular and frequent guidance, allowing Returners to thrive as they reemerge in their careers. At the completion of the program, those who have demonstrated their abilities to succeed and have an impact are considered for full-time positions.
The best time for new beginnings is now! Start 2021 with actionable guidance on how you can make your Return to Work aspirations a reality.
This event is open to all who are interested! If you know of someone who is pursuing a return to a full time career, forward this invitation or the link to the event registration page.
